Woodwalk Artist Explores the Meaning of Places

Jill Ewald brings an eclectic and ancient medium to Woodwalk Gallery with her painted and stitched textiles and paper. Ewald said the visual images she paints have to do with mapping. She strives to create work from different geological, psychological and emotional places, work that is informed by movement between then and here, between time and place. Within this framework, she explores interior and exterior human connections, our connections to the self, to others, and to the natural world.

Ewald is featured along with Pamela Anderson, David Smith and Sturgeon Bay local Kristi Roenning for the To The Depths exhibit. This exhibit runs June 29 to July 29. The opening reception is July 1, 4:30-7 pm.

Woodwalk is open daily and represents more than 70 artists ranging in many different mediums. For more information visit woodwalkgallery.com or email [email protected].
