Woodwalk Concert Series Celebrates Release of Dahl’s “Leaky Boats and Paper Birds”

Katie Dahl

On July 6, the Woodwalk Concert Series presents the Annual Wise Women Songwriters Show. Jenny Bienemann, melaniejane, Jeanne Kuhns and Mary Mattson will preform and Andria Nikoupolis Weliky will open the show with belly dancing.

The singer/songwriters will come together in the Nashville songwriter circle tradition, taking turns performing their unique style of music.

On July 13, folk singer-songwriter Katie Dahl will celebrate the release of her new CD, Leaky Boats and Paper Birds. Dahl will be joined by bassist/percussionist Rich Higdon, multi-instrumental wizard Eric Lewis, and Andy Coulson on banjo.

Dahl’s honeyed alto voice, insightful songwriting, and engaging onstage presence have made her one of Door County’s best-known musicians. The songs on Leaky Boats and Paper Birds are Dahl’s most sophisticated to date and range from quiet and introspective to bold and energetic.

The concert will also feature a song from Dahl’s original musical, Victory Farm, currently in production at American Folklore Theatre. For more information about Dahl, visit http://www.katiedahlmusic.com.

All shows are $15 and begin at 7 pm. Call ahead to reserve seating. Guests are welcome to come early and picnic on the patio. Ice cream, soda, beer, cds, t-shirts and art will be for sale.

Woodwalk is located at 6746 County G, one mile off Hwy 42, south of Egg Harbor. For more information or for reservations, call 920.868.2912.
