Woodwalk Gallery Opens with “Birds Of A Feather”

“Away” by Jeanne Kuhns.

“Birds of a Feather” opens Woodwalk Gallery’s 2013 season with a reception on May 26, 4:30 – 6:30 pm. The community is invited; there will be music by Pamela Johnson, hors d’oeuvres by Wisconsin Cheese Masters of Egg Harbor and a floral creation from Jeremy Stichman of DC Floral in Sturgeon Bay.

Eight of Woodwalk’s “flock” of 48 artists has contributed to the show that also features new works by gallery owner Margaret Lockwood. The featured artists and their works include highly realistic images of birds by Jan Comstock, playful sculptural birds in flight by Robin Fleming, decorative birds and houses by Jim Rericha, a bronze heron by Kirsten Christiansen, crows being crows by Jeanne Kuhns (of Lost Moth Gallery), hand carved duck decoys by D.S. Sully and artwork from Deborah Lader (a songstress from Sons of the Never Wrong).

Lockwood’s new works feature the ethereal landscapes of the Reflections series. Her paintings are an invitation to remember and to walk into the space with your senses wide open to mystery and reflection.

Woodwalk Gallery, open 10 am – 5 pm daily, is located at 6746 County Road G, just 2 miles north of Carlsville, a half-mile off of Highway 42 at Schartner’s Farm Market. For more information, call 920.868.2912 or visit WoodwalkGallery.com.
