Work Days at Potawatomi State Park

Last year the Friends of Potawatomi Park cleared much of the thicket of invasive Eurasian honeysuckle shrubs along the shoreline. Clearing away the honeysuckles allows the native shrubs to thrive and opens up the view of the bay.

The Friends plan to complete this work in the coming weeks and invite the public to join in work parties on Saturday, May 21 and Saturday, June 4 from 9 am – 12 pm. Experience is not required and equipment will be provided. Participants are asked to meet at the campground shelter on May 21 and at the picnic shelter on June 4. The work will be postponed in the case of steady rain.
