Write On Brings Michael Brecke Back to Lead Workshop

Michael Brecke, former pastor at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Juddville, returns to lead a special offering at Write On, Door County, “Sharing Stories With Someone You Love.” Brecke left St. Paul’s in October of 2013 to serve as interim pastor at a church in Kansas City.

“Sharing Stories With Someone You Love” will inspire participants to begin writing their own stories. The class meets Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, July 11, 13, and 15, 10 am – 3 pm, on a private farm on Highland Road in Fish Creek. People are encouraged to take the class with someone they love – a spouse, a parent or child, a sibling, a best friend. The class is limited to 10 pairs to ensure an intimate environment and that everyone will have the ability to share their stories. While pairs are encouraged, single registrations will be accepted. Bring old letters or an object to use as a touchstone for your stories.

Brecke was well known and loved throughout Door County for his humor, intelligence, and inquiring mind. He was involved with many community projects while at St. Paul’s, including serving on the boards of Scandia Village and the Door County Community Foundation. Write On, Door County was born from a conversation Brecke had with fellow founding board member Anne Haberland Emerson. Fittingly, the nonprofit writing organization is located next door to St. Paul’s.
