Write On Presents One-Day Writing Intensives

Write On, Door County is offering Writing on the Door, a series of three one-day writing-intensive classes with award-winning faculty: poetry with Michael Kleber-Diggs on Aug. 7, nonfiction with Staci Lola Drouillard on Aug. 8, and fiction with Peter Geye on Aug. 9. Optional one-to-one critique sessions are also offered the day following each intensive.

The three faculty members will also offer a free, public reading Aug. 8, 7 pm. All programs take place at Write On, 4210 Juddville Road in Fish Creek. Workshop participants may take part virtually if they choose, but the reading will be in person only.

Kleber-Diggs is the author of the award-winning collection Worldly Things and a 2023-25 Jerome Hill Artist Fellow. In addition to poetry, he writes essays and literary criticism. Drouillard is a descendant of the Grand Portage Band of Ojibwe and the author of Walking the Old Road: A People’s History of Chippewa City and the Grand Marais Anishinaabe and Seven Aunts, which earned the 2023 Minnesota Book Award for Memoir. Geye’s sixth novel will be released next year. His previous novels include Lighthouse Road and Wintering.

Tuition for each intensive is $350, and scholarships are available. To request a scholarship, email [email protected] or call 920.868.1457.
