“We must learn to reawaken and keep ourselves awake,” wrote Thoreau. What does it mean to be awakened, and how can writing help us to reawaken and stay awake? Karen Hering, author of Writing to Wake the Soul, returns to Door County to lead an afternoon of guided writing for writers and non-writers alike who wish to wake up to their own inner truths and to the truths of our times.
Hering is consulting literary minister at Unity Church-Unitarian in St. Paul, Minnesota. She leads retreats and programs near and far for people using writing as a spiritual practice and a tool for healing and social action. Writing to Wake the Soul was selected as one of the best spiritual books of 2013. Visit karenhering.com for more information.
Hering will be the guest speaker at the UU Fellowship the morning of Oct. 16 at 10 am. To register, call 920.854.7559 or email [email protected] with your name and email address. The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship is located at 10341 Hwy. 42 in north Ephraim. For more information call 920.854.7559.
