Yampolsky Named PMF Conductor Laureate

Christoph Ptack, Peninsula Music Festival’s (PMF) president and CEO, has announced the appointment of Maestro Victor Yampolsky to the honorary post of conductor laureate of PMF’s Festival Orchestra. 

“I am deeply moved and honored to receive such a prestigious acknowledgement from the board and leadership of the Peninsula Music Festival,” Yampolsky said. “The service PMF provides to the public is hard to overstate. The general feeling of goodwill and camaraderie for those who perform at PMF makes the entire experience a culmination of joy for the musicians and public alike.” 

Yampolsky is an internationally renowned professor, conductor and violinist. He was born in the Soviet Union to the esteemed pianist Vladimir Yampolsky and studied violin with Mikhail Garlitsky and David Oistrakh in Moscow.
