YMCA Masters Swimmers Make a Splash

The Wisconsin Short Course State Championship Masters Swim Meet took place April 2 – 3 at Walter Schroeder Aquatic Center in Brown Deer, Wisconsin. Participants from Door County YMCA Masters Team included Bela Sandor, Mary Cram, and Tara Warren.

Sandor placed first in the 50 and 200 yard breaststrokes, breaking his own State Record in the 200 with a new record of 3:13:55.

Cram placed first in the 400 Individual Medley (I.M.) and 200 freestyle events, second in the 200 I.M., 500 freestyle, 1,650 freestyle, 200 backstroke, and third in the 100 I.M., 50 backstroke and 100 backstroke.

Warren placed second in the 100 freestyle, 100 butterfly, and 50 freestyle. She also placed third in the 50 butterfly and fourth in the 100 I.M. and 50 breaststroke.

The team totaled 276 points in the meet, and hopes to make a larger showing at the Badger State Games in Appleton in June.
