YMCA Provides Fall Prevention and Cancer Recovery Classes

The Door County YMCA launches a Fall Prevention Class, and continues their Cancer Recovery Class.

Stepping On is a community-based program aimed at building confidence to reduce and/or eliminate falls. The program incorporates a group setting that meets at the Northern Door YMCA on Wednesdays, 1 – 3 pm, for seven weeks. Christine Webb-Miller is the certified instructor, and the class is open to members and nonmembers.

Registration is also open for a new session of LIVESTRONG® at the Sturgeon Bay and Northern Door YMCA centers. This program offers those living with, through and beyond cancer a safe environment to participate in physical and social activities.

Through this program participants have been introduced to Silver Sneakers, swimming, Zumba, weight lifting and cardio equipment training.

This program is supported by donations, so there is no cost for participants.
