YMCA Seeks Artwork Donations

The Door County YMCA Northern Door Program Center is excited to announce the inaugural “Let Art Live On” installation and fundraising event will begin this July and run for three months.

Do you own pieces of art that have value but no longer have a place in your home? This summer the Door County YMCA will hold a summer-long art event, “Let Art Live On.”

If you have a piece of art that you would like to donate to the Door County YMCA for this event, email Heidi Erickson ([email protected]) with the following information: one (or more) picture of the piece, your name, contact information, medium, artist, date acquired, and your approximate appraised value. Our art committee will determine which pieces will be accepted into the art event. Selected works will be on display in the Northern Door YMCA Center for a full month. There are a limited number of pieces accepted each month. Submission dates are as follows: July display submission deadline is June 26; the August display submission deadline is July 24; the September display submission deadline is Aug. 28. The YMCA is partnering with Clarence Scherer, owner of A Decorator’s Gallery of Egg Harbor, to appraise all donated pieces. If your artwork is accepted as a piece for our event, it will become YMCA property once donated.

Each month’s display of artwork will allow members and community members to bid (via silent auction) on the artwork so it can find a new purpose and home. All proceeds will benefit the Door County YMCA Annual Campaign. Give your valuable artwork a second chance and new home, all while supporting the YMCA’s annual campaign.
