Younkers Stores Open ‘Close to Home’ Shops with Local Products

Three Younkers stores in the Green Bay region are celebrating in a distinctly Wisconsin way this holiday season with the opening of new in-store boutiques that offer a selection of specialty products and gifts sourced from local vendors. The “Close to Home” shops, which will remain open year round, are located at Younkers stores at Bay Park Square in Green Bay, the Fox River Mall in Appleton and Sturgeon Bay.

“As the Green Bay region’s hometown department store, we take great pride in showcasing products made and sourced right here in our local communities,” says Julie Behnke, Younkers Sturgeon Bay store manager. “Younkers regional merchandising team has carefully curated a select offering of specialty products from Wisconsin vendors that provide our customers with a hometown shopping experience full of fun, unique and giftable items.”

The Younkers “Close to Home” shops feature 11 Wisconsin vendors whose products range in price from $3 to $125. Items include artisan soy candles and bath & body products handmade in small batches by the Eco Candle Company in Appleton; jams and salsa made from fruits home grown and canned by Door County’s family owned Seaquist Canning Company; soaps with hints of masculine spice inspired by the classic Wisconsin hunting lodge from Long Rifle Soap Co. in Green Bay; hand-crafted boho-style handbags and wristlets from Permanent Baggage in Milwaukee; and a variety of specialty items from several other vendors. In addition to the in-store experience, customers will be able to purchase these local items online starting in November.
