State Assembly Representative Garey Bies

Bies is seeking co-sponsorship of a bill that would require a physician who performs or induces an abortion after 10 weeks to arrange final disposition of the fetal remains resulting from the abortion. “Final disposition” is defined as burial, cremation or delivery to a medical or dental school.

“This bill isn’t about whether or not a person should be able to have an abortion,” Bies wrote in an email to legislators. “This legislation is about the respectful disposal of fetal remains after an abortion has been performed.”

“More than 1 in 5 acres is owned by a government in Wisconsin,” Lasee wrote. “It is time to sell off land for private use like farming (which generates revenue to help provide for future generations) and trade other land for only the best land for future generations.”
