Although we aren’t surrounded by the salty waters of the ocean here in Door County, you can still indulge in the coastal favorite sandwich of the summer: the lobster roll.
Several places throughout the peninsula serve a lobster roll, but last week I tried Harbor Fish Market in Baileys Harbor, which is known for its lakeside dining and excellent fish and seafood options. The restaurant has socially distanced seating indoors and outdoors, and it also offers takeout and curbside options. The lunch comes with a side (I went with the classic fries) and a pickle, making it a filling – but not heavy – meal. The lobster salad itself was a fine mixture of mayonnaise, celery, scallions and diced cucumber. It filled a soft, grilled, buttery bun, which was perfect for dabbing up any extra salad remnants at the end. All in all, it was an ideal summertime lunch: refreshing and savory.
