Zumba Gold Classes Held at Area Assisted Living Centers

Pinecrest Village residents take advantage of Martha Bennett’s Zumba Gold Class.

Martha Bennett, a fitness instructor located in Sturgeon Bay, was recently licensed to teach Zumba Gold.

Zumba Gold is a specialty of Zumba Fitness LLC, which began the very popular Latin-based dance fitness classes. Zumba Gold uses the same rhythms and basic steps as regular Zumba, but with easier choreography and less impact. Participants still get the same great cardio and toning workout, but always have one foot on the ground.

“Zumba Gold classes are a great way for older active adults, beginners and those with mobility issues to get moving and stay fit!” said Bennett. “Everyone, at every age and activity level, can benefit from regular movement – plus, it’s a lot of fun!”

Bennett teaches classes at Staudenmaier Chiropractic Wellness Center at 30 N. 18th Ave., Sturgeon Bay on Tuesdays and Thursdays. She also holds Zumba Gold classes at area assisted living centers and is open to starting other group exercise classes at resorts or for other interested groups in Door County. A free demo class will be held at the Door County Senior Center Wednesday, June 19, at 11:15 am. For more information call 920.743.2718.
