These Sister Bay kittens were born on June 1, arriving at the shelter in late July. Consisting of four girls and one boy, this litter is named to honor local veterinarians who help the Humane Society in so many ways. There is Carrie (Dr. Franke), Lois (Dr. Kurshner), Deb (Dr. Johnson), Sherry (Dr. Billet), and Patrick (Dr. Warpinski).

As very young kittens, they have received initial vaccinations but are still too young to be spayed/neutered, or have final distemper and rabies shots. That responsibility will lie with the adopter and is part of the adoption agreement.

Full of lively curiosity with bright brown eyes, Midnight came into the Humane Society as a surrender last month when her family relocated out of state. She is a five-year-old Labrador, who is compatible with most dogs and people, and will be an ideal family friend for years to come. Midnight is spayed. Leash walking with volunteers is just about the best part of her day, except for playing with toys, dashing through the wading pools, and mealtime!

Adoption costs are $85 for cats and kittens, $120 for dogs, and $60 for puppies. All animals are vaccinated, and spayed or neutered. Dogs have had a behavioral assessment.

The Door County Humane Society, located at 3475 Park Drive (County PD)
in Sturgeon Bay, is open for adoption Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from noon – 4 pm. For more information call 920.746.1111 or visit http://www.doorcountyhumanesociety.org.
