Raisin

Early on December 11, a morning staff worker approached the shelter driveway on Park Drive. She noticed a Rubbermaid® storage container resting against the mailbox, highly unusual as the shelter’s mail goes to a PO box. With some trepidation, the caregiver stopped at the head of the driveway to investigate the closed container. On this dark and frosty morning, she carefully edged open the container to find two deeply chilled cats huddled together and desperate for water and warmth.

Bran

These two male cats are safe, loving animals who have received the best of care over the past month. Raisin is an orange and white boy, 2-4 years old while his friend Bran is black and white, about the same age. Both have been tested for feline leukemia, vaccinated and neutered. They show no long-term effects of their midnight dumping, and the staff at the shelter can’t wait for them to see the other side – the kind and generous side – of human nature in a new home.

Adoption cost is $90. However, for the month of January adoption costs for cats has dropped to $20.12.

Adoption costs are $150 for dogs and $60 for puppies. All animals are vaccinated, and spayed or neutered. Dogs have had a behavioral assessment.

The Door County Humane Society, located at 3475 Park Drive (County PD)
in Sturgeon Bay, is open for adoption Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from noon – 4 pm. For more information call 920.746.1111 or visit http://www.doorcountyhumanesociety.org.
