One of the first cats to greet new arrivals at the shelter is Mr. Chips. He is an 8-year-old front declawed, sociable cat, surrendered in June 2012. His Sturgeon Bay family had an infant who was allergic to cat hair, so Mr Chips was brought to the Door County Humane Society (DCHS). Very soon, the shelter staff hopes to be able to say “Goodbye, Mr Chips,” as his forever family takes him to his new home. Mr Chips is neutered, vaccinated, and micro-chipped.

Adoption costs are $90 for cats and $150 for dogs. All animals are vaccinated, micro-chipped and spayed or neutered. Dogs have had a behavioral assessment.

The Door County Humane Society, located at 3475 Park Drive (County PD) in Sturgeon Bay, is open for adoption Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from noon to 4 pm. (DCHS will be closed on Monday, Sept. 3 for Labor Day.)
