Rangoon and Regina were born in the Town of Egg Harbor and brought to the Door County Humane Society (DCHS) shelter when just a few days old. Strawberry and Raspberry were a week old when they arrived at DCHS from the City of Sturgeon Bay.

These four kittens, now three months old, share a large cage in the lobby. They are healthy and spirited after being hand-fed for the first month by cattery staff. Because all DCHS kittens must be spayed or neutered, and fully vaccinated before leaving the shelter, these four must achieve four pounds and/or four months of age to be adopted. But they can be seen and “spoken for” now so please visit. There are currently 151 cats and 10 dogs at the DCHS.

Adoption costs are $90 for cats and $150 for dogs.

The Door County Humane Society, located at 3475 Park Drive (County PD) in Sturgeon Bay, is open for adoption Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from noon to 4 pm. For more information call 920.746.1111, visit http://www.doorcountyhumanesociety.org or “Like” the Door County Humane Society on Facebook.

Fall Fest in Sister Bay means the opportunity for a Door County Humane Society parade contingent. Bring your dog, kids, and join shelter walkers Saturday morning following our float down Highway 42. The group gathers at 10:30 on County ZZ (Maple St.) at the church cemetery at 10:30am.

The DCHS Fall Fest booth is located south of Al Johnson’s Restaurant. Hot stuffed pretzels, beverages, and new logo merchandise will be available for purchase.
