Marty

It’s “Hound Haven” at the Door County Humane Society kennels right now. Three of the coolest hound dogs around are at the shelter, and each will bring something different to their forever families. The Humane Society receives a number of hounds because this canine group is very good at scent tracking. That darn nose will bring a Beagle, Coonhound, Bassett or other hound straight off their owner’s property and into unfamiliar territory.

Marty is just 5-years-old, a perfect age for a Beagle as he still has lots of enthusiasm for playtime, but calms down quickly. Miss Millie arrived in early December; she is a 6-year-old Beagle with a ladylike demeanor. A calm adult home would be her preference. Arriving in February, Louie has impressed the shelter with his street smarts and knowledge of commands. He is a young 2-year-old Treeing Walker Coonhound, a stray from Sevastopol.
