Bernadette

A special adoption fee of only $25 for any cat one year or older is the big holiday news from Door County Humane Society. The humane society makes this change to encourage more adoptions before the end of the year. Bernadette and her pals Sheldon and Leonard theorize this fee reduction is reason for optimism.

Bernadette and her buddies were left in a carrier outside the front door in August. All three have been sterilized, vaccinated and micro-chipped. With more than 125 cats currently available, shelter personnel invite our community to ring in 2014 with a new cat companion.

Rocker

A beautiful, blue-eyed dog named Rocker also has hopes of finding a playful, active family for the New Year. Rocker is a Husky/Malamute mix who just celebrated her first birthday. She enjoys the company of people and is happy to be part of any activity that humans undertake. Rocker was tied outside for much of her first year, but she has been eager to learn inside manners and the fun of leash walks. She has been spayed, vaccinated and micro-chipped. Families are invited to visit Rocker in the “Meet and Greet” room. Dog adoption fee is $150.

The Door County Humane Society, located at 3475 Park Drive (County PD) in Sturgeon Bay, is open for adoption Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from noon – 4 pm.
