About 90 percent of global marine fish populations are heading for trouble. More than 25 percent have already collapsed, 30 percent are over-exploited, and 38 percent are fully exploited. The rest are undeveloped or recovering. Part of the problem is global mismanagement of fish stocks, and climate change is beginning to have an effect. (Froese et al, 2012, Marine Biology, March issue)
