Combining the better traits of two breeds, the dog in the spotlight today is Benji. This four-year-old Labrador Retriever/Alaskan Husky is a big, social guy who was surrendered when his Sturgeon Bay owner moved away. Benji grew up with kids, adults, and another dog, so he welcomes lots of activity. He loves to explore and is a little too quick to burst out an open door. While he knows his basic commands, a dog obedience class would be a wonderful way to bond with Benji and help him be the very best companion dog possible. Benji is neutered, vaccinated, and micro-chipped. Dog adoption fee is $150.

The Door County Humane Society, located at 3475 Park Drive (County PD – the road to Potawatomi State Park), Sturgeon Bay, is open for adoption Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from noon – 4 pm. For more information call 920.746.1111 or visit dooranimals.com.

Join your friends at Mink River Basin, Ellison Bay, on Wednesday, Nov. 26 from 4 to 7 pm for the new Door County Humane Society fundraiser “Pints for Pets.”
