7th Open Door Pride Festival

Open Door Pride will host its seventh Pride Festival on June 24, 10 am – 5 pm, at Sturgeon Bay’s Martin Park, 207 S. 3rd Ave. The festival includes vendors, food, beverages, music, games, art activities, 50/50 raffle and more. Admission is free.

To start the festival, Coleen Bins of Chief Oshkosh in Egg Harbor will honor the event with an Indigenous invocation of Pride. For the second year in a row, Barrett Tryon will emcee the festival; DJ Tim Waters from Madison will provide dance music all day; and Door County singer/songwriter Katie Dahl will perform at 3:30 pm.

Bayshore Outfitters will offer games in the park, and Megan Jain will host the Ribbon Project while also doing henna and face painting.

The festival continues across the street inside the M3 Gallery, where artists Claudia Scimeca of ARTicipation Gallery, Jen Aldrich and Andria Nikoupolis-Weliky are hosting free art activities for kids of all ages. The What’s My Pride selfie station will also be available for attendees to add images to the growing collection.

Open Door Pride will recognize this year’s recipient of the Sandy Brown Award and present its annual IDEA (Inclusivity, Diversity, Equality and Accessibility) Scholarship. At nightfall, the Door County Maritime Museum’s tower will be illuminated with the rainbow Pride colors.
