“A Night to Remember” at DCA

On July 11 at 8 pm, Door Community Auditorium (DCA) will present a performance of A Night to Remember, an exuberant night of musical storytelling that pays tribute to the night when Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Johnny Cash gathered at Memphis’ Sun Studios for a historic night of music.

On Dec. 4, 1956, four musical legends met in an impromptu gathering at Sun Record Studios. When Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Johnny Cash all happened to gather together on that winter evening in Memphis, the electrifying result truly was “a night to remember”—in fact, the Memphis Press-Scimitar called the grouping a “million-dollar quartet.”

DCA audiences will get to witness the power of that musical evening firsthand as it is recreated by the A Night to Remember cast, who will also play iconic favorites like “Blue Suede Shoes,” “Walk the Line,” “Ring of Fire,” “Great Balls of Fire,” and “Hound Dog.” Uncannily recreated by the show’s talented and joyful cast, A Night to Remember consists of 90 minutes of exuberant rockabilly, country, gospel, and pure 1950s rock and roll.

Tickets range from $26 to $48. Advance reservations are recommended and can be made through the DCA box office, located at 3926 Highway 42 in Fish Creek. The box office is open Monday-Friday, 12 – 5 pm. Tickets can be purchased in person, on the phone at 920.868.2728, or online at dcauditorium.org.
