Al Wittenberg

Travel back with me now to a day oh so dear,
when our great state’s economy was farming and beer.
Move forward in time on a 21st century vector.
The locals and tourists still love that golden nectar.

Whether out for a night or in your own home, no fuss.
It’s drivers like Al who supply that pleasure for us.
Every owner and employee all agree without jest,
that dear Al from Flanigan is the best of the best.

Al works so very hard and smiles at almost everyone.
He loves our life’s pace, most friendly people under the sun.
Says “When two lanes went to four I remained on this tip.”
With Flanigan for 17 years, a local distributorship.

So Al climbs to his seat after unloading a bunch of beers.
I ask that invasive question, “Where will you be in 15 years?”
His answer simple and honest as he continues his rounds,
“Working or retired, I can still lift a keg, only 165 lbs.”
