Another Extension For Cobblestone Hotel

Cobblestone Hotels was back before a city committee asking for another extension, Feb. 13, and Sturgeon Bay’s Finance/Purchasing and Building Committee agreed to amend the development agreement to give the company more time.

The latest amendment would give the company seven more months to construct a four-story, 62-room hotel at the corner of Egg Harbor Road and 12th Avenue. If the Common Council approves the committee’s recommendation, Cobblestone Hotels would now have until Dec. 31, 2025 to complete the project.

Under the agreement, the hotel company has until May 31, 2024 to acquire the property.

This is the third time the company has requested more time – once to purchase the property and now twice to have the hotel completed.

Anna Jakubek, vice president of development for Cobblestone Hotels, said supply chain issues are still affecting construction of the company’s hotels with 15 currently under construction.

“Elevators and switchgears have been the biggest delay,” she said.
