Artists of Warmth at Angela Lensch Gallery

Fall has arrived in Door County, and the Angela Lensch Gallery has just the thing to help people stay warm and get cozy. Meet three lovely ladies who reign as “artists of warmth” on Oct. 10, 12 – 5 pm. Come early because hand knit and hand crocheted creations will go quickly. Each item is unique, comfy, irresistible and a fun fall fashion statement.

Marvel at the intricate designs and whimsy tassels in Kathy Sander’s hand-knit creations. Sander is an artistic spirit who enjoys creating wearable art with warmth, color and texture. She has a BA in drawing and ceramics and loves teaching ceramics to seniors.

Tawnie Perkovich, creator of the successful business Gypsy Stomp, has been crocheting since she was seven years old. All of her designs are original creations. She loves dazzling her fans with special order design work. Recently she created a personalized hat for the popular band WIFEE and the HUZz BAND, called the Huzzbeanie.

Come slip into a pair of the coziest wooliest mittens imaginable, handcrafted by Mary Schneider. By seeing the beauty in what we already have, Schneider repurposes material into her snuggly woolen mittens. As a practicing oncology nurse, she finds sewing mittens gives her a sense of quiet peacefulness. A portion of the proceeds will be given back to her cancer center survivors.

Angela Lensch Gallery, open daily 10 am to 5 pm, is located at the south end of Egg Harbor, halfway between the Patricia Shoppe and Chief Oshkosh, at 7653 Highway 42. For more information, visit angelalenschgallery.com or call 920.868.5088.
