Auditions for Upcoming Rogue Theater Production

Rogue Theater is holding non-Equity auditions for One Flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest by Dale Wasserman, based on the celebrated novel by Ken Kesey and directed by John Wilson. This stage adaptation explores the brutality of life in a mental-health institution with humor, candor and unforgettable characters.

Rogue is looking for male and female actors, ages 20-65, to portray various roles, as well as people 16 and older to work as crew members and on-stage extras. Some roles involve kissing and intimate scenes with a partner, and the play explores mature themes that include profanity, sexuality, suicide, murder and death.

Auditions will consist of a conversation and script reading, with callbacks held the first week of August. Do not prepare a monologue because those auditioning will be reading a selection from the play. The cast will be called for rehearsals weekday evenings and occasional weekends starting Sept. 18, and the schedule will be based on cast members’ availability.

Auditions will be held July 27, 6 pm, at the Door County Community Foundation; and July 29, 1 pm, at the DC Arts Center, 917 N. 14th Ave. in Sturgeon Bay.If you have questions or want a list of character descriptions, contact Rogue Theater at 920.818.0816 or [email protected].
