Aveleda Alvarinho Minho 2010 Portugal

This winery was established in 1671 and has been family owned for over 300 years. They make nearly a dozen different wines, with this Alvarinho being their flagship white.

Appearance: light golden hue

Aroma: aromas of light citrus and fresh melon

Flavors: flavors of white cherry, lemon zest and red apple with a touch of spice

Finishing Notes: ends with a crisp and clean character that turns to a bit of sweet peach flavors

Perfect Pairing: We would pair this wine with seared scallops over a Romaine and Mesclun salad tossed in balsamic vinaigrette dressing with dried cranberries, crumbled Gorgonzola cheese and a touch of fresh lemon juice.
