Big Brothers Big Sisters Kicks Off 50 Mentors in 50 Days Campaign

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Wisconsin (BBBSNEW) kicked off its 50 Mentors in 50 Days campaign on Jan. 6, which will involve social-media posts and streaming TV ads highlighting the need for mentors. The campaign will run through the third week of February to promote awareness of the programs in Brown, Door and Shawano counties.

“While the campaign focuses on all mentors, our biggest need is for male mentors,” said Katie Hess, BBBSNEW’s executive director. “Unfortunately, we have 60-plus boys waiting to be matched with a Big Brother.”The organization believes that all youth should have the opportunity to achieve their full potential. Volunteers can participate as a mentor in several ways, and BBBSNEW holds monthly information sessions during which interested volunteers can learn more about mentoring requirements. Visit bbbsnew.org or call 920.498.2227 to find out the dates and times of upcoming information sessions.
