Calling all Plein Aire Artists!

The new Gallery at Domicile in Sister Bay is hosting an open Plein Aire opportunity Thursday, August 27 at its location at 10592 Hwy. 57, on the south end of Sister Bay near the Hwy 42/57 intersection.

All artists, whether hobbyists or professionals, are welcome to bring their plein aire setups to sketch or paint images of the three 100-plus-year-old historic buildings, or the pond and flower gardens on the campus that houses Domicile and the Gallery at Domicile. The campus is located next door to Sister Bay Schoolhouse Park, which also offers an interesting distant water view. Ample parking is available in the Schoolhouse parking lot.

The Plein Aire invitation is open to everyone interested. There is no fee, sign-up procedure, regulation or follow-up, just an informal opportunity to mingle with welcoming artists, capture fascinating surroundings and enjoy Door County history.

Participants who plan to settle in for the day need to bring a sack lunch, snacks or drinks as needed. A washroom is available. In case of rain or inclement weather, the gathering will be canceled.

The Plein Aire event will be held during the Gallery’s hours of 10 am – 5 pm. For more information call owner Jane Kayser at Domicile, 920.854.9005 or Artist in Residence, Sue Vineyard at 920.743.6068.
