Capturing Energy

“Dandelions for Dessert” by Madonna Siles.

The Door County Art League (DCAL) Gallery at the Top of the Hill Shops in Fish Creek is featuring the art of Madonna Siles, artist of the Week, Sept. 6 – 12.

Siles is an expressionistic plein air painter who endeavors to capture Door County’s dynamic energy, light and color in her oil pastel paintings. Her artwork has been included in juried exhibits at the Miller Art Museum and Hardy Gallery in Door County, Rahr West Art Museum in Manitowoc and the Water’s Edge Artists’ art calendars. Siles has studied with Chicago watercolorist Tom Lynch, Sedona plein air pastel artist Susan Faust and locally with pastel artist Emmett Johns.

A retired marketing communications specialist, Siles has a B.S. in Communications from the University of Illinois. She lives in Sturgeon Bay.

The DCAL gallery is open every day except Wednesday from 11 am to 5 pm (3 pm on Sundays). It is located in the rear courtyard of the Top of the Hill Shops in Fish Creek. For more information visit doorcountyartleague.org.
