Celebrate National Seed Swap Day

Celebrate National Seed Swap Day at the Door County Seed Library’s first community seed swap Jan. 25, 10 am – 1:30 pm, at the Sturgeon Bay Library.

Gardeners may take saved seeds and leftover seed packets to share and swap with other gardeners or to donate to the seed cabinet. Seeds of edible and nonedible plants, flowers, herbs, fruits and vegetables are all welcome.

“Even if you don’t have any seeds to swap, we invite everyone to stop by and take home some seeds. This is a great way to get ready for spring and connect with area gardeners,” said Penne Wilson, co-founder of the seed library.

Participants are also invited to take any cooking and gardening books or magazines that they’d like to swap.

Admission is free. The swap will be held in the library’s basement in conjunction with the Friends of the Library’s Shop the Shelves book-sale event.
