Chief K Invite Hosts 14 Teams

Gibraltar hosted the Chief Kahquados Invitational on Aug. 23, bringing 14 cross country teams from throughout northeastern Wisconsin to run in Peninsula State Park.

In the boys varsity 5k, Matt Vosters of Freedom crossed the line first, with a time of 16:39.9. Gibraltar’s Sam Kordon was the top local finisher with a time of 18:16.13, garnering him 18th place.

In the girls varsity 4k, Liz Bloy of Freedom finished first with a time of 14:42, and Dominque Bowers of Sevastopol was the top female local finisher with a time of 16:11 for 15th place.

Freedom finished in the top spot for the boys team totals, and Green Bay’s Notre Dame Academy won the girls division.

Over 435 athletes from Algoma, Denmark, Freedom, Gibraltar, Green Bay NEW Lutheran, Hilbert, Kewaunee, Kiel, Luxemburg-Casco, Mauston, Mishicot, Notre Dame De La Baie Academy, Oconto, Sevastopol, Southern Door, Sturgeon Bay and Two Rivers participated in the event.
