Committee Appointments and a Proposed Amendment

Welcome to the Notes from the Grove, providing Liberty Grove residents and visitors tid bits of information about goings on in town government.

• Committee appointments have been made as follows: Mike Bahrke, Pat Hockers and Mike Walker have been appointed to the expanded Highway Committee. David Studebacker has been appointed to the Economic Sustainability Committee; the committee is in need of one more member. Anyone interested should contact the Town Office. Lou Covostos has assumed a vacant position on the Plan Commission.

• The town has entered into a contract with D.J. Fedderly, Management Consultant. He will be working with Baudhuin Inc. on the engineering plans for Isle View Road.

• The Parks and Property Committee will discuss the possible construction of a dog park to be located in Ellison Bay. Gary Garber brought in an estimate of $11,000 plus for a 200’ by 200’ chain link fence with gates. The estimate includes installation.

• A new copy machine for the office was approved.

• The Town Board supported the request for a Zoning Amendment from Joel and Alicia Kersebet for a parcel from SF30 to MC. The Comprehensive Plan for the Town indicates commercial usage in this area. They propose to utilize the parcel for additional parking for Ecology Sports and Base Camp.

• A proposed Building Control Ordinance will be reviewed by the town’s legal counsel.

• A reminder that the Shred Fest and Appliance Recycling has been scheduled for June 2 and October 20. Information can be found on the town website.
