Woodwalk Gallery welcomes mixed-media collage artist Laura Lein-Svencner to the gallery in June for a contemporary collage art workshop.
Lein-Svencner brings an innovative skillset with a hands-on approach. Her fun and creative four-day workshop includes a light breakfast for those coming from afar and lunch for anyone attending.
The workshop will be held June 19-22, 9:30 am – 4:30 pm each day.
Contemporary collage illustrates blurred boundaries, exposing storylines of experimentation with each student’s visual vocabulary. The use of color, texture and imagery will be emphasized through the layering of altered collage papers and acrylics. Students will be encouraged to build their own palette of papers. The connections to composition through design principles will be taught along with the intuitive process visually associated with the fine art of collage. Tack irons will be used to fuse collage papers to a watercolor substrate. Image transfers will also be taught within this workshop.
Whether new to collage or more experienced, this workshop is designed to engage all levels of interest. A supply list is available upon request. The cost is $650. Space is limited. For more information about Lein-Svencner visit lauralein-svencner.com. To register for the workshop, call 920.629.4877, email [email protected] or visit woodwalkgallery.com.
