DCA to Host “Scaryoke” on Halloween

On Oct. 31, Door Community Auditorium (DCA) will present “Scaryoke,” an all-ages, family-friendly Halloween event. Audiences are invited to dress up as their favorite performers – dead or alive – and show off their karaoke prowess. Competitor costumes may also visually depict a song title or lyric.

Anyone is welcome to participate in Scaryoke, and a number of cash prizes (ranging from $100 to $250) will be awarded at the end of the night. Prizes will include: $100 for Best Costume & Performance (come as Elvis and sing “Blue Suede Shoes” or as Taylor Swift and sing “Style”); $100 for Best Group (dress as The BeeGees and sing “Staying Alive” or as One Direction and sing “What Makes You Beautiful”); $50 for Best Lyric/Costume Combo (for example, come dressed as a brick house and sing The Commodores’ “Brick House” or sing Lorde’s “Royals” dressed as Queen Elizabeth); $50 for Best Student Under 12; and to cap it off, $250 for the first-ever Scaryoke Grand Prize.

Participants must pre-register with DCA by end of day Oct. 29. Registration fee (to compete for prizes) is $10.

Scaryoke will take place on the DCA main stage at 7 pm on Oct. 31. The event is free to the public to watch. DCA is located at 3926 Hwy. 42 in Fish Creek. The box office is open Monday through Friday, 12 – 5 pm. More information is available at 920.868.2728 or dcauditorium.org.
