Tara Carr, director of the UW-Green Bay Small Business Development Center.

The Door County Economic Development Corporation (DCEDC) is hosting an entrepreneurial training program that business experts from the UW-Green Bay Small Business Development Center will facilitate. The center’s director, Tara Carr, will teach participants how to identify customers, determine their needs, analyze that information and create a feasible plan for starting or growing a business.

The eight-class program is scheduled for Tuesdays starting Feb. 7, 5:30-8:30 pm, at the DCEDC Business Center, 185 E. Walnut St. in Sturgeon Bay.

Each participant will pay $100 upon registration. A $150 scholarship – provided by Associated Bank, Bank of Luxemburg and Nicolet Bank – is available to 20 participants who complete the course. Also included is a $750 grant provided by the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) upon completion of a workbook or business plan.

Participants must register online and apply for the WEDC grant to be fully registered for the course. Register at wisconsinsbdc.org/services/events, and learn more by contacting DCEDC’s executive director, Michelle Lawrie, at [email protected] or 920.743.3113, ext. 101.
