Discussion of Art Materials Hosted by DCAL

Bill Worley, representative of ColArt Americas, Inc., will be guest speaker at the Door County Art League’s monthly meeting on Monday, July 28, beginning at 7 pm at the Gibraltar Fire Department meeting room. The public is invited to the lecture entitled “Everything You Wanted to Know About Artists’ Mediums But Were Afraid to Ask.”

Worley, who doesn’t consider himself an artist but loves the materials, – how they are made, what they contain, and what they can achieve in the hands of creative people, – says, “Mediums are the foundation of artist materials. They allow artists to manipulate the optical properties of color, along with surfaces and visual appearances.”

ColArt is the maker of Winsor & Newton and Liquitex, among other creative products, and within the company Worley says, “My main focus is with kindergarten through 12th grade education, assisting educators in understanding the important role that materials play in achieving artistic success.”

The Gibraltar Fire Department is located at 3496 County Road F in Fish Creek.
