Don’t Miss Speakeasy Casino Night at Maxwelton Braes

Maxwelton Braes, Thyme Cuisine and the Ellie Helm Foundation will host the second annual Speakeasy Casino Night – casino events, blackjack, craps, poker and roulette for a good cause – on Sept. 27 in the lodge hall.

For one night, Maxwelton Braes will be transformed into a 1920s speakeasy casino: Table-side servers will wear dress of the era, and the evening will recall the low-lit back rooms of yesteryear. Attendees are encouraged to dress to the theme, and prizes will go to the best dressed.

A special snack menu, whiskey tasting and wine toss will be highlights, and music and dancing courtesy of DJ Hope Reyes will cap off the evening. Those who purchase tickets in advance will receive a text message with a password that admits them to the secret bar room.

The Ellie Helm Foundation (elliehelmfoundation.org) began in 2017 to ensure that Ellie’s legacy of helping others lives on. Doors will open at 6 pm; tables will open at 7 pm. Tickets – available at doorcountytickets.com for $25 per person in advance and $30 per person at the door – include admission, startup cash and bar snacks, with food available for purchase.
