Hole-in-one’s: Two – (1994) 2nd hole, 142 yards with 9 iron at St. Germain Golf Course in St. Germain, Wisconsin; and (2012) 14th hole, 126 yards with 9 iron at Crescent Pointe Golf Club in Hilton Head, South Carolina. Also had a double eagle (albatross) at Hunter Country Club in Richmond, Illinois, in 1976.

Nicest golf course(s) ever played: St. Andrews in Scotland (New Course) and Harbour Town Golf Club in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.

Favorite golf memory: Playing golf with my two sons, Jason and Ryan, at St. Andrews in rain and lightning. Hair stood up on Ryan’s (6’6″) head twice on back nine as lightning struck. All the while, my wife Lynn was sitting in the van praying, because she knew we would not leave the course.

Proudest golf accomplishment: Played 225 holes in one day with friend trying to get into Guinness Book of World Records in July, 1977. Also, will be marshaling at the Ryder Cup in late September.

Favorite golfer: Arnold Palmer

Fantasy foursome: My sons, Jason and Ryan, Michael Jordan, and myself.

What’s in the bag? Taylor Made Burner driver, Adams Tie Lies 3-wood, 3i, 4i, and 5i Maxfli Hybrids, 4-PW Taylor Made Burner irons, Lynx Sand Wedge, and Snake Eyes putter.

Strengths: Long off the tee and hybrids

Weaknesses: Inconsistent putting

Golf tip to share: Grip it and rip it, but seriously, think, but not too much.
