Door County Humane Society Featured Pets

BIRDMAN: Look at this face! Caught eating orange marmalade, don’t you think? Birdman, a stray from the Little Sturgeon area, is one to two-years-old. He’s been at the shelter since May; although originally quite shy, he’s discovering how much fun the world can be outside a cage.

FARRAH: Large and drop-dead lovely, Farrah is a four-year-old Rottweiler/Newfoundland mix. She’s a bit headstrong, so this girl must be placed with an experienced dog owner. Although not good with cats, Farrah runs and plays very well with the larger dogs at the shelter.

The Door County Humane Society, located at 3475 Park Drive (County PD) in Sturgeon Bay, is open for adoptions Mon. Wed. Fri. Sat. and Sun from noon – 4 pm. For more information call 920.746.1111 or visit http://www.dooranimals.com.

How about a hot ham and cheese Panini and cold beer at Fall Fest to help the Door County Humane Society? Food and logo merchandise will be available at our booth next to Al Johnson’s Restaurant on Oct. 18 and 19.

Or, bring your dog and join the fun on Sat. morning walking in the parade with the Door County Humane Society. Pet owners will gather at the cemetery on Maple Street at 10:30 am.

Folks can also enter their dog in the 2nd annual Dog Show at 1 pm, where prizes will be awarded in 10 categories! There is a $5 entry fee.
