Door County Maritime Museum Speaker Series Returns

On Jan. 5, the Door County Maritime Museum’s Speaker Series featured Ken Westcar’s recount of the repowering of the 1,000-ft. self-unloader Paul R. Tregurtha at Bay Shipbuilding in Sturgeon Bay.

The Speaker Series, which is held at the Maritime Museum in Sturgeon Bay, will continue the first Thursday in February and March with programs relating to current and future work at Bay Shipbuilding followed by a presentation on the War of 1812 and its impact on the Great Lakes. The series concludes on March 29, with a presentation on the museum’s popular boat building program.

All of the programs will begin at 7 pm and are free of charge, though donations are appreciated.
