Door County Reads Holds Gallery Walk

Martinez Studio will open its doors on Feb. 9 and 10, 9 am – 12 pm, as part of the Sturgeon Bay Library Gallery Walk, a 2019 Door County Reads program. Martinez Studio is listed with several other local galleries in tandem with this year’s featured books: Wintering by Peter Geye and The Death and Life of the Great Lakes by Dan Egan. Both authors will present afternoon talks during the weekend.

Egan will speak Feb. 9, 2-4 pm, at the Sturgeon Bay High School auditorium; and Geye will speak Feb. 10, 2-4 pm, at the Kress Pavilion in Egg Harbor. Also on Feb. 9, the Northwest Passage Gallery at The Ridges Sanctuary in Baileys Harbor will feature artwork by students in the Northwest Passage program.

In addition to Wence and Sandra Martinez of Martinez Studio, the following artists are included in the gallery walk: Lynn Gilchrist, Deb Stroh-Larson, Stephanie Trenchard and Jeremy Popelka of Popelka Trenchard Glass, Jeanne Demers, Liz Butler, Karen Hertz-Sumnicht and Vicki Rawlins of Sister Golden.
