Door County Sister City Jingdezhen Invites All to 2017 International Ceramics Festival

Door County Sister City Jingdezhen, China has extended an invitation to any interested Door County residents to attend the city’s 2017 International Ceramics Festival. The festival runs from Oct. 18-22, 2017. Participants would need to arrive in Jingdezhen no later than Oct. 17. Once in Jingdezhen, food, lodging, transportation, museum entry fees, etc. are covered by the Jingdezhen Sister City Department. Visitors are responsible for covering their transportation costs to and from Jingdezhen as well as any additional travel within China.

Seven previous sets of visitors – “delegations” – from Door County have traveled to Jingdezhen. Delegations have been as small as one person or as large as ten. Most delegations have visited during the International Ceramics Festival, but Jingdezhen’s Sister City program welcomes delegates at other times of the year if an October visit is not possible for you. While in Jingdezhen, delegates are wined and dined like royalty and visit a variety of cultural and historical sites within the city. Meetings or visits can also be arranged which relate to delegates’ personal or professional interests.
