Door County’s Crossroads Presents Dramatization of Great Peshtigo Fire

It is no coincidence that Fire Prevention Week begins on October 9, the anniversary of the second day of both the Great Peshtigo Fire and the Great Chicago Fire.

The Door County Historical Society has invited Barb Chisholm to present her one-women dramatization of the Great Peshtigo Fire in Door County as a part of the Sunday in the Village program. Dressed like one of her Belgian ancestors, she tells the horrific stories passed down through her family, augmented by extensive research.

Chisholm will make history come to life at 2 pm in the Collins Learning Center. The Historical Village also will be open and costumed members of the Door County Historical Society will open the buildings for visitors from 1:30 – 3:30 pm.
