Ellison Bay Hosts Annual Fall Art Crawl

On Oct. 20 and 21, seven galleries and two schools in Ellison Bay will open their doors and studios to the entire community. The crawl takes place 10 am – 7 pm on Oct. 20 and 10 am – 5 pm on Oct. 21.

Clay Bay Pottery (11650 Hwy. 42) will display an assortment of ceramic ladies, mugs, bowls and casseroles. Cookies and appetizers will be served, and there will be a chance to win a bowl.

Linden Gallery (12001 Mink River Road) will display a collection of antiques, original art, artifacts, textiles and jewelry from Asia.

The Savory Spoon Cooking School and Marketplace (Hwy. 42) will offer an artisan cheese tasting.

Ellison Bay Pottery (12156 Garrett Bay Road) will display functional stoneware with gem-like glazes and pit fired decorative, ceramic art. A pit fire party will be held Saturday evening, and Sunday is the grand pit opening.

Newport House Gallery (12044 Hwy. 42) will feature the whimsical prints of Kathleen Taylor and soft sculptures by Chris Karman. There will be an opportunity to win an original carving by Bob Guge.

Gills Rock Stoneware (12020 Lakeview Road) will feature their latest pieces of pottery, including Thor’s new “ball lamp.” Thor will offer turkey sandwiches on freshly baked bread from his wood fired oven, and a sampling of Island Orchard Cider.

Turtle Ridge Gallery (11736 Mink River Road) will show pearlized lamb trim “origami clutches” and an assortment of messenger bags. There will be a hand-dying wool demonstration, where guests can dye their own scarves.

Cousin’s Walk (11940 Lakeview Road) will feature a painting demonstration and a door prize.

The Clearing Folk School (12171 Garrett Bay Road) will offer refreshments, docent tours, a door prize and demonstrations.
