Feed the Belly

Plum Bottom Pottery will be hosting the second annual launch of the summer edition of Knock: Door County Arts and Lit Journal Thursday June 15 from 6 – 9 pm for an evening of art, food, and literature.

The event will mark the eighth issue of Knock, which is themed the Belly. The new summer issues will be available for the first time, (free, as always), Chad Luberger, owner of Plum Bottom Pottery, debuts his latest porcelain art, and jewelry artist Angela Lensch unveils her new intricate woven jewelry. Amidst live readings from the writers and fresh art featured in the new issue, beverages and a spread of asian food will be served to feed the belly. Issue 8: the Belly, features local and far-flung artists, such as Sharon Auberle, Ralph Murre, Soirsce Kastner, Katie Schnorr, Gary Jones, Nik Garvoille, and others, spanning disciplines from prose, photography, painting, and poetry. Last year’s Plum Bottom/Knock collaboration was not your typical poetry reading or literary journal launch party. There were well over 100 people ranging all ages, delicious food and drink, lively readings, and a party like atmosphere. The community is invited to come share in the festivities, enjoy a bevy of asian food, hear, see, and feel art, and bring a poem or story to share, if inclined, and get to know a cross section of the blossoming arts movement in Door County.
