Feed the Fish Nears Wrap

Feed the Fish, an independent movie starring Tony Shalhoub filmed primarily in Door County last winter, could be screened on the peninsula in October.

“We just locked the picture,” writer and director Michael Matzdorff said from his home in Los Angeles last week. “Editing has wrapped up, and now the process moves to sound and music work, plugging in the score and sound effects.”

Matzdorff said the film is running about five weeks behind schedule, owed largely to the fact that most of the crew have day jobs and are working on Feed the Fish on the side.

“We’re a little behind, but it’s best to get it right,” he said.

Matzdorff is working on distribution prospects, and plans on submitting the final product to Sundance, Tribecca, and Slamdance film festivals.

He’s hoping for a public “cast and crew screening” in Door County in October, possibly over Fall Fest weekend.

Matzdorff recently added a host of production stills to the film’s Web site, http://www.feedthefishmovie.com.
